Shadow Chasers Infinity
A downloadable game for Windows
The world has things in it that most people never see. You're the ones who go looking.
Shadow Chasers Infinity is a turn-based, isometric computer RPG on the d20 Modern rules: modern-day heroes, real firearms, and the supernatural just behind ordinary life. Make a party, take it through an adventure, explore, talk, sneak, investigate and fight. The ones who survive come home with experience, and they can grow into any of the twelve d20 Modern advanced classes.
Make your heroes
- Six basic classes, nineteen occupations, the d20 Modern feats and talents.
- Character creation by the book: abilities, occupation, class, skills, feats, a Wealth roll, and a shop of around 170 items.
- A roster that keeps your characters between adventures.
Play an adventure
- Flames of Wrath (four 1st-level heroes): thirteen fires in three weeks in a town under a volcano. The first three were arson. Nobody can say what the other ten were.
- Trouble at Black Rock (four 3rd-level heroes): a voice on the CB, from a town that stopped answering its phone months ago. Comes with its own ready-made party.
Every scene can be talked through, sneaked past, investigated or fought, and failure has consequences.
Fight smart
- Tactical turn-based combat: full attacks, attacks of opportunity, combat maneuvers, stances, action points, massive damage.
- Firearms done properly: magazines, reloading, autofire, range increments, and cover and concealment along every line of fire, shown as you aim.
- Stealth: Hide and Move Silently against Spot and Listen, every round.
- Darkness that blinds, fire that spreads, enemies with tactics of their own.
Grow
Endings pay experience. Level up through the same screens you made your character with, and open the Soldier, Martial Artist, Gunslinger, Infiltrator, Daredevil, Bodyguard, Field Scientist, Techie, Field Medic, Investigator, Personality and Negotiator advanced classes.
Make your own
Adventures are data. The source includes a guide to making one, for you or an AI agent: adapt a d20 Modern adventure, convert one from another game (D&D 5th edition in detail), or build one from your own idea.
